It was only a matter
It was only a matter of time. The UK Edition of Monopoly has done away with paper money - replacing it with a plastic credit card. Are there interest charges and service fees too?
TamponCrafts is a website devoted to creating useful things out of Tampons. A fairly expensive building material but hey... This month's project is a weapon that fires Tampons.

"Remake of Whisky Galore! hits the rocks over snub to Scots" (Scotsman)- while I respect the attempt by the filmmakers, I agree that it's a bad idea to try to populate the film's cast with non-Scottish actors. Silly!

Hey hey hey
Best music of 1900s-1920s as MP3sFoldedSpace has ripped and posted a rare collection of the best music from 1901-1920s and posted it, along with commentary. These public domain songs are delightful, and feature some of my favorite artists, like Billy Murray, who sounds a little like Bugs Bunny, and even an original recording of Sousa's band. The CD version of this goes for as much as $190 on Amazon and eBay, but since the music is in the public domain, it can be freely redistributed. (from boing boing)
From Zero to Hero: "Much loved by generations of children and adults alike, Tintin's intrepid adventures are more than simple cartoons. In their mastery of plot, subtlety of themes and depth of characterisation, Hergé's books deserve to sit alongside some of the greatest works of literature."(Guardian UK)
How Eisenhower solved illegal crossings from Mexico. (CSM) Interesting reading.
War Crimes: Israel's offensive against peace (from Le Monde diplomatique)
