It's a Wonderful Life

Last night was opening night for my first group photography show - organized by the Toronto Photography Meetup group at the Art Square Gallery on Dundas St. (across from the AGO)... About 200 people showed up and it was a very good time. I have three prints in the exhibit (seen below, first three on the bottom row) and the show runs until January 22nd.

A picture series of Volkswagen's new 'transparent' assembly plant in Dresden. Marvellous!

The old classic, Frank Capra's "It's a Wonderful Life", was also produced as a radio play with the original stars. Here's an mp3 with the whole show, including the Luxo Sponsor breaks.

Luxo indeed! I used to listen to the Lux Radio Theater pretty regularly; it was on every week and had a huge audience. It had two challenges: make the script fit into the time (leaving the allotted time for the commercials for Lux Beauty Soap) and make it suit the dramatic requirements of radio, quite different from the screen. Movie stars quite regularly showed up on radio, it was great publicity for them and the studios.
